To achieve success in learning problems, beside the factors that affect language learning as: affective factors, personality factors, cognitive factors, aptitude factors, social factors; the role and responsibilities of teachers and learners are the two deciding factor.l. The teacher is leading factor to enhance the quality of education in current practice. The teacher who has a great knowledge and have experience in teaching. So they will know their roles and responsibilities in teaching in front of classroom. ll. ContentsA. The teacher’s roles in thelearning process Using a framework suggested by Harmer(1991), it is possible to identify the teacher in anumber of roles in the lesson: as controller ineliciting words; as assessor of accuracy asstudents try to pronounce the words; ascorrector of pronunciation; as organizer ingiving instructions for the pair work, initiating it,monitoring it and organizing feedback; asprompter while students are working together;and as resource if student need help with wordsand structures during the pair-work.The list below shows the roles categories thatemerged and the percentage of teacher whomentioned functions pertaining to a particularcategory1. Source of Expertise: instructor, presenter, information provider, input provider, resource, source of knowledge. 2.
