Recent research has highlighted the role of learning to upgrading in the global value chains. This study takes a closer look at how garment manufacturers from emerging markets upgrade themselves within the global value chain (GVC) of the apparel industry and how they learn useful knowledge from partners in the business networks for upgrading.
