The non-discrimination treatment, inter alia, is an important element of legal protection of foreign investment, which is a matter of considerable public concern. National treatment (NT) and Most-favoured-nation treatment (MFN) constitute the cornerstone of nondiscrimination standards enshrined in international investment treaties.
